Although it
is believed that blue
whales,
like humpback, gray, and other large baleen whales migrate between
summer feeding grounds in colder waters and winter breeding grounds in
warmer waters, the migration of blue whales remains very little
studied.

It is tempting to believe that the eastern Atlantic population
for example, which is found between Iceland in north and Azures in
south, migrates between those two as do many other baleen whale
species.
While many publications state that they do migrate and they
very likely do too, take this with a little bit of caution because it
is not totally confirmed. Before it is confirmed there is always a
possibility that the sounthern and northern individuals may be
different populations.
