There are blue, fin,
minke, sperm,
pilot,
humpback and killer
whales, as well as harbour porpoises and white beaked
dolphins.
You can
do some excellent whale watching from Reykjavik, Husavik and Dalvik. Iceland is
also known for
a large variety of seabirds which can be seen on whale watching
trips.
"In south we mainly see
Minke whales, White-Beaked Dolphins, Harbour Porpoises and
occasionally Humpback whales. In north it's mostly Humpback, Blue
whale and Minke... sometimes Orca (Killer whales). Sometimes there are more
species but these are the most common there. Icelandic waters have a
lot of whales
and many other types I've mentioned but they are too far out for us to
go see them on tours. These tours are usually 3 hours."
