As in many other places in Alaska,
the nutrient-rich waters are visited by migrating whales that come here
to feed during the spring and summer months.
First, in spring, Pacific
gray whales are seen.
Later, as the summer approaches, killer, minke
and humpback whales arrive.
There are different tours that take whale
watchers out to the ocean.
