Some popular places where whale
watching tours depart in this state are Gloucester, Boston,
Newport,
New Bedford, Nantucket, and the towns around the Cape Cod
Bay such as Provincetown, Plymouth and Barnstable.
Depending on where
your tour departs, you are taken to either Jeffrey's Ledge or
Stellwagen Bank Marine Sanctuary.
Both places
are rich on fish and
plankton, which the whales come to eat here during the summer months.
